I began composing in high school, and haven't stopped since. In undergrad, I double-majored in Music Education and Music Theory/Composition, earning accolades and "grunt work" along the way. Much of my work is still in pencil and paper form in various boxes in my basement. In 1992, I bought my first Mac, and have been a Finale user ever since. Over the past nearly forty years, I've composed/arranged for jazz big band, jazz combo, concert band, marching band, pep band, drum corps, orchestra, choir, chamber groups, solo works, and the list continues to grow.

In 2015, at the urging of several colleagues and mentors, I began the project of "cleaning up" my original compositions and public domain arrangements for publication. Over twenty finished products are now available for purchase (both downloadable and traditional hard-copy) at jwpepper.com and sheetmusicplus.com (just search "daniel moore music" at those sites). You can hear mp3s and see score samples on those sites, as well.

If you prefer, you can purchase digital downloads (PDF via Dropbox) direct from me. For one flat fee, I then grant you a "site license" to print and copy as much as you desire of a given work for your own students/members (relying on your honesty not to distribute copies to other organizations). Contact me at danielmooremusic251@gmail.com to discuss terms.

Most recently, I have published two band method books: Important Ingredients, a Daily Warm-up and Development Method for High School Symphonic Bands and Pointillistic Duets, an Innovative Approach to Development of Sight-reading Skills. These books have been a big hit with several high-calibre, Superstate-bound Illinois bands. The books are something of a compendium of my bag o' tricks, and provide a great deal of structure, as well as creative approaches to student advancement. Visit jwpepper.com to peruse sample copies, or contact me directly for PDF samples and information on the aforementioned site license for digital downloads.

In addition to my ever-growing catalog of original compositions, I've also done a great deal of custom arranging. I've created arrangements for marching band, drum corps, concert band, jazz band, string orchestra, full orchestra, pit orchestra, choir, woodwind ensembles, brass ensembles, percussion ensembles, and solo voices/instruments with piano, organ, jazz band, concert band, and orchestral accompaniment. A Finale user for more than twenty-five years, I provide complete sets of well-edited parts, with user-friendly rhythms and clear directions for all musicians. I have cultivated personal proficiency on nearly all instruments, and that translates to compositions and arrangements where all instruments are written in the proper range, with facility and endurance always well-considered. I'm ready and willing to work with you on whatever commission you have in mind, be it transcription from one medium to another, creative arrangements, or whole new compositions.
